Welcome to TenWeb, the site dedicated to the Vickers VC10 and other classic British airliners.
The prototype Vickers VC10 rolled off the production line at Brooklands in Weybridge, Surrey to take the air on 29 June 1962. A total of 54 aircraft were sold, today 16 examples remain in service with the British Royal Air Force. This number is reducing all the time, and in 2011 the VC10 will be replaced by the Future Strategic Tanker Aircraft, possibly a converted Airbus A330 airliner.
The VC10 has provided the RAF with excellent service, lasting many years beyond its original planned exit date.
